Beetles

Two malachite beetles, Malachius bipustulatus (Coleopera: Melyridae) on a thistle.  They were mating but separated when I disturbed them.  The female is to the left, the male to the right.

Photos taken in the field below Chazey Wood, near Caversham, UK, on 2013-05-26.
