Moth

From back in early summer: a burnet companion moth, Euclidia glyphica = Euclidea glyphica (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).  So-named because it is often found in places where burnet moths are common (as was the case with this one).  The brown markings on the wings are more distinct that on the otherwise similar small yellow underwing moth.
