Parent Bug

From back in mid-summer, a parent bug, Elasmucha grisea, (Hemiptera: Acanthosomatidae).  So called because the adults stay with their young for several weeks after they have hatched. There are some good pictures showing this here at BritishBugs.

Photo taken in Whiteknights Park, Reading University grounds, Reading, UK, on 2009-07-24.
